PROJECT OVERVIEW

At SOLA Creative Studio, we partnered with Feminitt Caribbean to develop the “Break the Stigma: Pass the Pad” campaign, aiming to challenge menstrual stigma and promote accessible menstrual health. Our objective was to create a dynamic, visually engaging social media campaign that sparked conversation and educated the audience about period poverty in the Caribbean.

THE IDEA

The campaign sought to redefine societal perceptions of menstruation by fostering open dialogue and education. By integrating bold visuals and informative content, we aimed to empower individuals to engage in conversations about menstrual health, thereby breaking down existing stigmas.

EXECUTION

  • Campaign Branding and Design: We crafted a vibrant and bold color palette aligned with Feminitt’s identity, incorporating clean lines and symbolic elements like the drop of blood to represent menstruation. This approach created an inclusive and youthful energy, making the campaign memorable and easily relatable.
  • Illustration Collaboration: Collaborating with illustrator Xala Ramesar, we integrated hand-drawn visuals that enhanced the campaign’s message, adding a relatable and personal touch to the content.
  • Photography: Utilizing Keith Austin Studio, we conducted photoshoots that produced authentic imagery, aligning with the campaign’s themes and resonating with the target audience.
  • Social Media Campaign: Developed engaging posts featuring powerful imagery and messaging to encourage open dialogue about menstrual health, ensuring visual consistency across all digital platforms.
  • Web Development: Designed and developed the Pass the Pad webpage, serving as an informative hub for Feminitt’s campaign goals and initiatives.

IMPACT & REFLECTION

The “Break the Stigma: Pass the Pad” campaign successfully fostered awareness and promoted positive change regarding menstrual health in the Caribbean. It reinforced the significance of design and storytelling in challenging societal norms and advocating for social justice. Collaborating with a dedicated team and witnessing the community’s engagement underscored the power of creative media in driving meaningful conversations and inspiring action.
