Between November 2025 and May 2026, my wife and I worked alongside Future Jumbies, a Moko Jumbie band led by Adrian “The Golden Moko” Young. The relationship began through autoethnographic research for her Disobedient Bodies project, but for me it became an extended process of cultural documentation.

Across the Carnival season and beyond, I documented their rehearsals, preparations, performances, and everyday life as closely as I could. Instead of approaching the work from a distance, the images came out of time spent with the band, building trust, sharing space, and staying present with the community beyond the camera.
